Subject: About how people communicate on webrings
Hi,
Very sorry to bother you. But my name is Hua "Jeff" Qian, and I am a Ph.D.
student of media studies at University of Texas at Austin. I am very interested
in the way that people communicate with each other online. Currently I am
working on a project to study how bloggers communicate with each other within
webrings, and how close they may become with each other. I am conducting an
online survey among webring bloggers.
I know that you are the owner of webring "Finnish Knit Blogs" and I wonder if
you kindly could help promote my survey among your ring members through your
member email list. This survey takes no more than 15 minutes to finish. It will
help reveal why people join webrings and to what extent they make friends and
get support from webrings.
When the survey is over, two survey participants will be randomly drawn from
those who provided an email address to receive a $50 gift card each as a token
of appreciation. Anyone interested in the findings may also email me when I'm
done with the analysis.
